Wedding Poems & Quotes
Quotes
* And now abide faith, hope, and love, these three, but the greatest is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) * As long as the grass shall grow, as long as the sun shall shine * Chance cannot change love, nor time impair, for love is more than a feeling. Love is a decision, a commitment to care forever. * Commitment looks toward a future that cannot be seen, and promises to be there. * Don't bother me. I'm living happily ever after. * A dream that is dreamed by two will always come true * Every day I fall more in love with you * For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. (Mark 10:7) * From long ago and far away love brought us to our wedding day! * Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be (Robert Browning) * Happiness is being married to your best friend. * Henceforth there shall be such a oneness between you, that when one weeps, the other will taste salt. * I feel sorry for anyone who isn't me today * I will not love you for the rest of your life, but for the rest of mine. * I'll build your dreams with these two hands. * In your life, may your joys be added, sorrows subtracted, cares divided and happiness multiplied. * I've looked at Love from both sides now (2nd marriage) * Knowing you'll be in all my tomorrows, makes my today so wonderful! * Let our love be like an arch - two weaknesses learning together to form one strength. * Love can't ever get better than this * Love comforts like sunshine after rain. * Love is patient, love is kind...Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4,8) * Love is pulling together against all odds * May I have this dance for the rest of your life? * May these two hearts forever be, in sweet and loving harmony * May you know such oneness that when one weeps, the other will taste salt. * My life is so blessed because you are in it! * The path to happiness is so narrow that two cannot walk on it unless they become one. * Side by side, hand in hand, heart to heart. * Thank you for sharing in the celebration of our love and commitment on our wedding day. * To have and to hold, to love and to cherish, from this day forward... * Today I marry my best friend the one I laugh with, live for, dream with...and love. * Today's happy together times are tomorrow's warm with memory times * Together is a wonderful place to be. * Two hearts once joined in friendship, united now with love. * Two hearts, two minds, two lives - one never-ending love. * We do not remembers days. We remember moments. * What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life. (George Eliot) * What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder. (Mark 10:9) |

A Wedding Prayer
Today is the beginning. In the years that lie ahead May you always share the love you have This day as you are wed. I pray you'll each be one on whom The other can depend, And may you share not only love, But be each other's friend. Some hopes may not be realized, Some dreams may not come true, But many of them will, I know, To bless the two of you. Within the home that you will have, I pray you'll always find Contentment, joy, security, Good health and peace of mind. |

I Thee Wed
I cannot turn my back just now, I sense your need of me. I am here. I married you Not only for the good that I can take But for all that I can give. I understand. I accept. I thee wed. The road is bright before us as hand in hand we start, One mind, one soul, one heart. |

The Countdown
(Marlys Bradley) Finger by finger, she counted The days until Her birthday cake, The start of school, The Christmas tree And Grandma's house. Now finger-by-finger, She dons white gloves And reaches for a veil. The music starts, Our fingers touch and I count myself blessed. Wedding Wish for My Daughter Beautiful child who lay in my arms Was it only yesterday? Diapers to pigtails, laughter and love Sweeping the years away Today your life will join as one With the man you will love forever And I know it is right... for I've seen the joy That the two of you share together Time's come...you're a woman I must say "goodbye" Let me hold you and kiss your soft curls On my face is a smile, but There are tears in my heart For you are still my little girl Who Gives This Woman? Who gives this woman to be wed? Her Mother and I. We gave her dawn. We gave her grace. We stamped our image on her face. We gave her books, And through the years, Calmed her early childhood fears. We gave her faith. We gave her prayer. She walked our road. She climbed our stairs. And now in solemn troth we swear, We cannot give. We only share. |

For my Dad with all my Love...
Your little girl is all grown up and has found a love so true, but a special place in my heart will always belong to you. For my Mom with all my Love... Only a Mother is truly aware of her daughter's needs, her dreams, her cares; and is always supportive from beginning to end... I'm thankful you are my mother, my friend. |

Marriage Means Being in Love for the Rest of Your Life
(Chris Ardis) Marriage is love walking hand in hand together. It's laughing with each other about silly little things, and learning to discuss big things with care and tenderness. In marriage, love is trusting each other when you're apart. It's getting over disappointments and hurts, knowing that these are present in all relationships. It is the realization that there is no one else in this world that you'd rather be with than the one you're married to. It's thinking of new things to do together; it's growing old together. Marriage is being in love for the rest of your life. |
