July-August 2012 Ad Challenge

Hi Ladies,

Here is your challenge for July & August:

Here are the details for this challenge:
1) Please make a layout based upon this month's ad inspiration!
2) In order to qualify for the layout posting bonus, your layout needs to be unique i.e. you cannot "double up" and use the same layout for more than one challenge.
3) You no longer need to use ONLY Digitals' kits in your challenge layouts; however, at least 3 of the elements/papers in your layouts need to be from Digitals designers.
~ PLEASE BE SURE TO GIVE PROPER CREDIT TO THE DESIGNERS WHO CREATED WHATEVER IT IS YOU DO USE ~
4) Once you have created your page, upload it to the Ad Challenge Gallery:
HERE and post a message in this thread with a link to your layout by August 31st.

Here is the ad that I have chosen for you this time around, taken from a recent issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine ... do you sense a trend - LOL???



Here were my thoughts when I picked out this particular ad ...
~ I was immediately struck by the large, slightly rotated photo coupled with the large embellishment that really brought your eyes to the center of the page.
~ I also loved that there was text right below the photo and thought it a perfect place for journaling!
~ It seems shaped title/journaling spots are quite popular recently, so I also thought that the combo banner/circle shape (or some kind of cool shape) would be the perfect spot for your title.
~ Finally, when I saw the small box at the bottom left, under the text (the one that shows how you assemble the award ribbon), I thought that would be a great place for either some additional small embellishments, a mini journaling box that contained the basic information about the photo i.e. date/name(s) or people/etc. or even a quote.

I hope the ad itself and/or some of my thoughts on it help get your creative juices flowing!

The framed and tilted photo, the large element in the lower right corner of the picture, the journaling in the lower left part of the layout and the "polka-dot" background paper inspired my interpretation of the ad.

I just entered my LO to the ad challenge--to tell everybody what fun a party is with cats. I named it Paint the Town Red, and the predominant color is red which the party ads inspired me to use that color. Here is the link!
