Double Page Challenge - April/May 2012

This year is just speeding past. The seasons (or what seems to pass for seasons this year) are changing just about as the days are being marked off the calendar.

Definition of a double layout: a set of two scrapbook pages that are designed to be printed and/or displayed side-by-side. They can be done as one continuous page or just as two pages that look nice together. They are typically done with coordinating colors/papers and feature a single theme or topic.

Every other month, I'll set out a new challenge for you. Each one will have something to do with a two-page layout; you'll need to post the double layout to the gallery in order to earn the challenge reward. You can post it as a single gallery image that shows both pages or you can post them individually (or do like many people do and post it both ways!) You will always have two months to complete the challenge to earn the prize.

Remember.... no "double dipping" - the LOs you make for this challenge can't count for another challenge! You need to use products from Digitals, but they don't have to be from my store (although I LOVE to see my stuff used!)

Now for the challenge...

I wanted to make this month super easy. Just one rule.... your theme must be about "Changing Seasons". This can be Winter/Spring/Summer/Autumn - or the Seasons of Life - or whatever you want to make of it.

You can do this from a template if you like, but you don't have to. The style and everything else is totally up to you.

Here is my two-pager with a different take on changing seasons - changing SPORTS season, specifically the 2008 and 2012 Major League Soccer Columbus Crew seaons.
After reading over my journaling, I realized that all four spot-lighted players are foreigners! That really highlights one of the problems of soccer in this country. We still seem to look elswhere for our soccer stars (ie: Schelotto; Beckham; Thierry), rather than finding more home-grown talent (Donovan). Oh, well, it is still a relatively young league. Give it time. The kids that have grown up watching this league are just now starting to become "of age" to be REAL "FOOTBALL" stars!

PS: Another "change" depicted in this layout: the left side (2008) pictures were taken with my old Canon EOS20D; those on the right (2012) were taken with my new CanonSX40HS

It seems like the seasons are just crazy this year! We encountered beautiful, warm, sunshine-y days in the Colorado mountains the first week of spring—not what we'd expected, but welcome nonetheless. Here's my 2-pager:

Here's mine.The wet and dry seasons of 10 years ago in Florida have been mainly dry seasons for several years, although we are getting some rain this year.
