Pastor Book

I have been playing with the idea of doing making a special book for my dad. He is a preacher and I want to snitch all of his handwritten notes and scan them in and make a scrapbook of them. The problem is I have to get them away from him lol! I want it to be a surprise......

Would your mom or anyone who works in his office be willing to help you and not give away the surprise?

Sounds like a wonderful idea. You may also want to include in the scrapbook a copy of a few favorite sermons that he preached. Our church put together a booklet of some of the sermons of a former pastor. Wish we had thought to include handwritten notes. That would have made it even more special.

Thanks gals! I think I will just have to sneak down one evening and snitch them lol! The problem is he often refers to his notes....I would have to steal them and quickly scan and bring back. But as you said I believe he would cherish it and it would be great to have an additional copy to give to my son one day.

Well I literally stole his Bible this evening hoping he would not miss it. Yeah right! My Mom had to tell him that I had taken it but she didn't tell him what for lol! Oh well maybe I can still keep it a surprise!

I think this is sweet! I have several of my dad's pocket notebooks. They are full of silly little things like measurements for home projects, work codes and info, even a few notes about us kids - but when I begin missing him, I love looking at his handwritting. I think this will be a blessing for your whole family.

I lost my husband unexpectedly two years ago, and one of the most precious things to me, are the handwritten notes he used to leave for me on the coffeepot when he left for work, and those in the margin of his Bible. I agree with JessieMomma this is going to be a blessing for your whole family. Take some photos along the way so you can do layouts about it.

The work has begun! I just made my own custom background with his Bible cover. I made a brush then created an overlay. Maybe in a few days I can show you a page or two.
