We have two Nikon SLR's, a D60 and D80. We also have a Nikon non digital camera but I am too tired to think of what it is. We love Nikons as we can use any of the lenses on any of the cameras.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT, but am looking to upgrade as soon as we can afford one. I also have a Canon PowerShot that I keep in the diaper bag so I don't miss things when I don't want to haul the SLR around.

I too love Nikon, and someday when I learn more I would like to upgrade but for now I have a Nikon D40

I just purchased my first DSLR last month and am still learning to use it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I purchased a Canon EOS XSi with the 18-55mm IS lens.
I also have a Kodak point-and-shoot. Can't remember the model right off hand. It's 8MP with a 4X optical zoom. Takes fairly good photos.

I have yet to purchase a dslr, still saving for one. But I currently have a kodak cd182 basic p&s and a canon sx20IS advanced p&s.

I am still doing research on what dslr I want. While I love my canon, I have also heard great things about Nikon. So at this time, I am torn between the 2 brands as far as DSLRs go.

I use a Nikon D-90 and LOVE it. I have had it for several months now but still don't know what all the bells and whistles do. But as long as my settings don't get changed by mistake I get beautifully sharp photos. :) The D-90 has the video feature but I haven't mastered that yet at all. I had a Canon Rebel before the Nikon and there were some issues with it. I don't have to do nearly as much touch-up to the photos I take with the Nikon as I did with the Canon Rebel. My daughter uses a Canon (whatever the step up is from a Rebel) and really likes it. She takes professional portraits and knows a lot more about the workings of the cameras than I do. But I've been VERY happy with my Nikon D-90.

I have had my Canon Rebel XT for 4.5 years and have been pretty happy with, but we have had to send it in for repair twice. Once was because of a drop, so not their fault. The other was a failed processor which was not our fault. I still have to re-set the date on it almost every time I turn it on which is annoying.

I have done some comparisons and I am hoping to get a Nikon D90 or its successor when we can afford it. It appears to be superior to all the mid-grade Canons except for the 7D which is much more expensive than the D90.

I would love to hear what everyone has and likes.

The processor must have been a problem with that style Canon Rebel. The one I had the processor went out. The Rebel my daughter had, the processor went out. Fortunately, both were still under warranty at the time. And, three other people we know who had the rebel, their processors also went out. Not sure if theirs were still under warranty or not. That's just too many for people that I know for the processors going to be a coincidence. I don't know anyone who has the newer Rebel to know how they are.

I was having Cannon power shot but was not satisfied with it.
Now I am having Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W350 14.1 MP Digital Camera (Black) its really very easy to handle and also having more clarity.
