Here is a list of my favorite keyboard shortcuts to help you become a more efficient Photoshop user. Many people find it hard to get used to the idea of using the keyboard instead of the mouse, but it really will increase your speed. Give it a try -- I think you’ll agree!
To quickly jump between your different tools without having to click on them, just press the following letters:
M = Marquee Selection Tool
V = Move Tool
L = Lasso Tool
W= Magic Wand
B = Brush Tool
S = Clone Stamp
I = Eyedropper
T = Type/Text Tool
G = Paint Bucket/Gradient
Z = Zoom
Some Familiar Shortcuts
Control+A = Select All
Control+C = Copy
Control+X = Cut
Control+V = Paste
Control+T = Transform
Control+D = Deselect
Hide Your Palettes Press Tab once to hide all your palettes. Press Tab again to bring them back. Press Shift+Tab to hide all your palettes except your toolbar.
Zooming In & Zooming Out Press Tab once to hide all your palettes. Press Tab again to bring them back. Press Shift+Tab to hide all your palettes except your toolbar.
To zoom in press Control and the plus sign "+" To zoom out press Control and the minus sign "-".
Fitting Canvas on the Screen Press Control + 0 (zero) to make your canvas fit on the screen. Quick Undo Command To undo the very last thing you did Press Control+Z. You can repeat this shortcut to undo your undo. To undo more than one step, press Control-Alt +Z. The Move Tool & The Arrow Keys The keyboard shortcut for the Move Tool is the letter V. When the Move Tool is active you can use your Keyboard Arrow Keys to nudge a layer or selection in one pixel increments. Press Shift along with the arrow key to nudge in ten pixel increments.
Control Your Color Squares Press X to switch your foreground color and your background color. To change the color of one of the color squares, just click on it. This will bring up the color picker, where you can select a new color.
Select Colors From Your Image Pressing I will activate your Eyedropper Tool. Then you can click on any color in your image to turn it into the foreground color. Press the ALT Key and click on any color in your image to turn that color into the background color.
Change Brush Tip Sizes Quickly When using a brush, you can automatically increase its size by Pressing the Right Bracket Key "]". Press the Left Bracket Key "[" to decrease the size of your brush tip. |
