Tell us about yourself and your family:

I have been married to my very loving and supportive husband, Owen, for 5 years and was a single mom for 9 years before that.  I have a son, Matthew, who is 16 and very social.  He is always off doing things...he is involved with Drama Club and is doing a Musical this March.  I also have a daughter, Kate, who is 14 and full of drama herself.  I currently started homeschooling her because she has a learning style that wasn't met by the school system.  We are both excited now to make learning fun!!!  Who is Karla herself?  Well I find my identity totally in my loving heavenly Father and all my gifts come from Him.  I am so thankful for the creativity He has given me and the joy that comes along with it.

How long have you been scrapbooking (paper and digital)?

I never did the paper scrapping for I couldn't handle organizing all the stuff.  Yuck!  I was first introduced to digital scrapbooking about 4-5 years ago...I was totally geeked at the idea, but wasn't able to start working with high resolution graphics until August of 2006 when upgrading my computer. 

What is your scrapbooking/Design/craft background?

I am a self-taught graphic designer and have been doing so for 5+ years, but have mostly worked with web-design.  I just love to create whether its writing, creating music, or graphics and now I get to combine them.  I have never been one to have patience enough for physical crafts and that's why digital scrapbooking is such a delight!!!

What software do you use?

I use Paint Shop Pro 8, but looking to upgrade to version 10 soon.

How many layouts do you manage/month?

Oh boy... I have to confess I only have 2 layouts done total, there is no monthly average.  I have been terrible in taking pictures in the past and very weak in skills of editing pictures.  I have been living out this dream of having my own collection of albums through creating kits that help others to do so.  I have a dream of creating my own lifesong of memories and plan to start soon by just staying current with my digital camera--doing the current life of my family.  I hope this encourages others that might be just starting out and overwhelmed with "where" to start.  It is just plain never too late to get started.  You just start.

Why do you like to create elements/kits?

Again I just love to create...I also love being a part of helping others create a lifesong of memories and seeing my creativity being extended through others.

How would you describe your style?

Not sure?  I personally love the grunge look...bright colors...but I also love lace and delicate things.  It depends on what inspires me.. I guess as with music I love a wide range of styles.

Who/what inspires you when you create?

First of all, God,  for through my writing I love to include custom poems in my kits. Then just life itself and a visit to the paper scrapbooking store hee hee.

What is the best thing about scrapbooking?

Being a part of helping others create beautiful pages expressing their memories.
