Tell us about yourself and your family: I've been married for over 10 years to my wonderful husband. We work at a church - I am a part-time secretary and he is the pastor. We have 2 adorable daughters - the main subject of most of my scrapbook pages! We live in the desert of Southern California, where we are finally starting to enjoy cooler temperatures.
How long have you been scrapbooking (paper & digital)? I have been scrapbooking for over about 12 years - 6 of those digitally.
What is your scrapbooking/design/craft background? One of my jobs at the church is working on newsletters and other promotional pieces. I learned many design principles through this, and I have picked up other knowledge along the way. I have been designing for about 2 1/2 years.
What software do you use? I use Photoshop CS 3 after using Elements for several years. It was an adjustment, but worth it!
How many layouts do you average per month? 4. I would love to scrap more! I once created over 80 pages in one month - but that was maybe too many!
Why do you like to create elements/kits? I love playing with colors and trying to create items which I would like to use myself.
How would you describe your style? Oh my goodness, what a hard question! My scrapping style naturally is a 2 or 3 photo, lots of white space page; but I try to do multi-photo pages to get lots of pictures scrapped, so my templates reflect that.
Who/what inspires you when you create? Colourlovers.com - such beautiful combination of colors! I also love a good font. I definitely feel that the choice of a font is very important to the layout, so I always have a variety of fonts on my computer.
What is the best thing about scrapbooking? Sharing my layouts with friends and family. It is a personal and artistic accomplishment to see them enjoy my pages.
Show us your favorite of your own layouts: Mine is more of a project I made - it's a calendar that I put together last year. http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/galleria/showphoto.php/photo/81410/ppuser/8622 I used 2009 calendar grids, of course, but I have 2010 calendar grids available here: http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/digitals/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=15184 |
